SCOBY INSTALLATION

what happens in a SCOBY colture if there is 12V streaming for a week?

i compared 2 batches made from the same SCOBY.

ingridients: green tea, dextrose, concentrated yeast.

after 2 days I noticed that in the batch with 12V the cellulose was only forming in the middle of the container

Container: plastic , transparent 78x56x18 cm / 55 l.

Ingridients:

.Distilled water 20l

.NAN YU black tea, 120g

.Dextrose (glucose), 500g

yeast extract, 3g

SCOBY, created from green tea

The temperature of the room is constantly on 30°.

AFTER 2 WEEKS: A 1cm thick biocellulose layer formed on top.

It is currently in the drying process.

EXPERIMENT n.1

LEARNING GOAL: how does acetobacter react and adapt to unconventional research techniques.

HYPOTHESIS: the SCOBY culture will be exposed to different environmental influences, it will determine their growth, health, and happiness.

METRIC: the outcome will be measured based on the bio-cellulose that is produced (color, strength, elasticity, weight,)

EXPERIMENT: The experiment consists of the creation of a SCOBY hotel.

4 small containers, every ‘section’ are populated by the same SCOBY colony but will have different influences (light, temperature, sound, air circulation, coloring, oxygen layer).

TIMEFRAME: The experiment will last 14 days.
